Registration: *If registering as a team:
- Add the meet to your team calendar on athletic.net, which will allow you access to the registration site.
- If your team will be competing as a club team, we can email you a link which will allow the team to create a club alias for the meet.
- If your team coach is not able to add the meet to the team calendar and a parent or chaperone will be registering the team, please follow the directions found HERE to obtain a registration link.
*If registering as an unattached individual:
- Add the meet on your calendar in your individual athletic.net account, which will allow you access to the registration site.
Which Race Should I Register For?
*Teams will register as club teams but MUST be made up of the same athletes who competed on the school team. *The championship races will be limited to the top 28-30 teams and the top 50-60 individuals who register for the championship race from all 7 states combined. Our committee will research each team and each individual who registers for the championship races to determine the top entries. *We review individual and team results from state meets and major invitational meets during the season to determine who makes the championship race fields. We also will confirm that athletes on championship team entries are the same athletes who competed at your state meet. *If a team or an individual registers for the championship race and does not make the field, meet management will re-assign the team or individual to one of the open sections. Please take into consideration your season’s race results when selecting your race entry. *If registering for one of the open sections, please register for whichever section you would like to compete in. Results for all open sections will be combined for the purpose of scoring and final finish place. *The top 3 girls Rising Stars (Sophomore and younger) from the four girls Open races combined will receive medals.

Meet officials will not allow runners on the starting line in any apparel that could impede other runners. *Please wear appropriate running apparel. *Cartwheels, holding hands or any other activity that could distract, impede, or harm another runner may result in removal from the course. *Races will stay on schedule. *Athletes may be pulled from the race course if not finished in the designated race time. *There are no jewelry or uniform rules. *Please do not leave warm up clothing in the starting box area. *Any unattended apparel or shoes left in a starting box after the start of a race will be placed behind the snow fence barrier by Heartland staff. *Nike Heartland is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Teams: *Teams must be made up of the same athletes who competed on the school team. Teams made up of athletes from different schools are not permitted. * NO substitutions, additions, or changes will be allowed to championship field rosters after the registration site closes. ONLY scratches will be allowed to these championship teams.
Bib/Hip Number: *Bib numbers must be pinned on the front of the jersey/shirt. Please use 4 pins. *Hip numbers must be placed on both the left and right hip of the shorts to ensure visibility by the finish line camera.
Timing: *Bib chips will be used. The chip is attached to the back of the bib. Please do not crinkle or bend the bib as there is risk of damaging the chip.

For example, if 4 teams are registered in the boy’s open race, those 4 teams would be assigned 2 boxes to share. Teams will be scored as they registered, regardless of sharing boxes. The timer will have all the proper team scoring information.
